How laity and bishops got together to push for reforms
I have been covering the German Catholics for close on 15 years. For years I felt like I have been regurgitating the same story and then at the end of September in what has been a crisis ridden decade, it became a crisis-ridden week with anger on the ground and even from bishops spilling over. That anger was directed at the Vatican. As an observer at the end of the week I suddenly felt like the big ocean cruiser is lifting off the sand bank where it stranded in 2010.
